Sydney’s new harbourside shopping precinct has brought back some jobs from the old city centre but has also brought new wealth to local communities.
The new Sydney Harbour Hub, which is part of the NSW Government’s $40 million harbourfront regeneration plan, has been built on the site of a former shipping depot, and will have retail outlets, restaurants and offices, as well as residential housing.
It’s also the first new industrial site in Sydney since 2008.
“I want to thank the NSW government for its support in supporting this project, and I look forward to seeing the revitalisation project live up to its vision.” “
The harbourside development, which has been under construction for the last two years, will include the development of a new commercial district and a residential development, with the aim of providing up to 600 new jobs to the area.”

The harbourside development, which has been under construction for the last two years, will include the development of a new commercial district and a residential development, with the aim of providing up to 600 new jobs to the area.
The new development is the first major redevelopment in Sydney in almost a decade.
In 2011, the NSW Liberal Government also pledged $10 million to the Sydney Harbour Industrial Park, which included the development and rehabilitation of a large shopping centre.
The redevelopment of the former shopping centre and the proposed new shopping centre were both included in the same $40 billion harbourfront revitalisation plan.
The harbourfront redevelopment will see the construction of about 3,500 apartments, more than 300,000 square metres of retail space and a large parking facility.
The project is expected to create up to 400 new jobs in Sydney, as the area will be redeveloped for residential use, commercial activity and recreational activities.
Mayor Doyle said the new redevelopment will boost Sydney’s economic vibrancy and boost the city’s attractiveness to international visitors.
“It’s a great thing to do,” he said.
“It will bring more people into the city and bring more tourists into the harbour.”
